Reading is my hobby especially I like reading a newspaper. The topic that makes me interested in reading newspaper is about International one. When I read the newspaper around a week ago, I was amazed by the issue of Feminist Movement. The news stated Feminist Movement which was done by the First World has betrayed their sister in the Third World.  At my first reading, I found the difficulty of comprehending what the term of First, second and third world meant, so In order to end my curiosity, I tried hard to look for another references and understand the intended meaning of the terms. Throughout this essay, I decided to discuss and analyze the First, Second and Third World of which those are the terms used to classify the group of the existing countries in this world.
First World countries in general description have a meaning for the countries which have very advanced economies and very high Gross National Product (GNP). The concept of the First World first originated during the Cold War, where it was used to describe countries that have large industrialized factory. These countries were democratic and capitalistic after the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War. Because of that the characteristic of First World are viewed as countries that have the greatest influence, the highest standards of living, and the greatest technology. Since its original definition, the term First World has come to be synonymous with developed countries or highly developed countries. The countries which included as the first world are most of the countries of North America, Western Europe, Australia and Japan.
Then I continue with the next explanation about Second World. The term Second World is a phrase used to describe those countries which are allied with or are supported by the First World countries or “Superpower Countries”. Second World refers to the former communist-socialist, industrial states, formerly the Eastern block. The territory and the policy of Second World tend influence by the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic. The Second World characteristics are modern, wealthy, industrialized nations, but they were all under communist control. These include countries supported by the United States, such as Colombia, Israel, China, etc.
And then finally I explain about the Third World explanation. The term Third World arose during the Cold War to define countries that remained non-aligned with either capitalism and NATO (which along with its allies represented the First World), or communism and the Soviet Union (which along with its allies represented the Second World). Many of the Third World countries being extremely poor, so it leads the society in this world consider the Third World is refer to “Poor Countries” .Therefore, the characteristic of Third World are having economic dependency on the developed countries, generally related with unstable governments and having high rates of population growth, illiteracy, and disease. Third World countries included most of Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
In the end I can say this article discusses the classification of the group of the existing countries in this world based on the economy, the history, and the ideology of each world itself. Based on the explanation we can conclude that First World is a phrase to describe or have synonymous word with developed countries or highly developed countries. Second World is a phrase used to describe those countries which are allied with or are supported by the First World countries (the "Superpowers").And then Third World is all the other countries, today often used to roughly describe the developing countries which generally related with unstable governments and having high rates of population growth. However the definitions of the First World, the Second World and Third World changed slightly, yet generally described the same concepts until this time.
